five(9)s Console 5.0 was released on Mar 10th, 2025.
This version brings new improvements and features to improve user experience and make it more user-friendly.
What's new?
New Feature: Software Mapping
Usually, when deploying an OS, the old software of the device is ignored and overwritten with a new OS and new software. However, if you don't want to ignore the old software, you can use our Software Mapping feature.
Software Mapping allows you to perform additional actions for an OS deployment, based on the old software. You can pre-configure what do to for every old software that was found. For example, showing a reminder to reinstall that software, or automatically installing a selected software package in addition to the OS.
New Feature: Device Recovery
The new Device Recovery feature allows you to automatically restore various information for a device when re-adding a deleted device. The feature is enabled by default, and restores information based on the serial number of the device. We restore the following:
- The Patch Group
- Custom Inventory values
- Computer History entries
- The SWD Desired State
New Feature: Endpoint Insight
Endpoint Insight is a standalone page showing you information about your local device you're visiting the page with. The page shows data in a user-friendly manner, providing the option to quickly display device details without having to use the device search.
Advanced Patch - Vulnerability Insights
Vulnerability Insights is a new way to display information about a specific vulnerability in a structured hierarchy. You can see all your devices in different categories, e.g. all devices with an installed patch, all devices with a download error, all devices still in the patch process, and many more. We also provide reasons and explanations why the listed devices might still be vulnerable.
Advanced Patch - Dashboard Redesign
The dashboard was redesigned to improve clarity. Every dashboard tile now belongs to one of three sections:
- The "ToDo" section shows immediate issues that need to be handled.
- The "Processes" section shows the status of the Advanced Patch Rollouts.
- The "Overview" section shows overall statistics of devices and vulnerabilities.
Also, some graphs were added under the dashboard tiles, showing historical values over time.
Advanced Patch - Export KPI
We added an export to important Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the Advanced Patch Dashboard. This allows you to get access to raw and structured data of important KPIs in a format that is ideal for further processing. The export and download of these KPIs can also be completely automated using the API we offer.
Custom Buttons - New Colors and Icons
You can now customize your custom buttons even further. Select a custom icon from our built-in selection or upload your own icon. You can also customize the colors of the icon, the icon background, and the text.
Additional changes
- We improved security and added support for passwordless database connections.
- For Advanced Patch you can now set default Patch Groups, which will be automatically assigned to any new device.
