What's new?

Advanced Patch (additional module license needed)
  1. Patch automation up to "No Touch"
  2. Qualified & simplified Patch Process
  3. Proactive notification for deployments and manual patch downloads
  4. Traceability of changes (change-history, rule-preview, dashboard)
  5. Filter (Vulnerabilities, GUI)
  6. Approvals for Patch-Deployments
  7. Vulnerability Overview

Central Search
To improve the maintainability of Preferred Servers - Content Replication and PXE Services (Preboot Execution Environment), we developed a concept to visualize all information required in a quick and easy view.
PXE service monitoring as well as the last content replication and schedule overview of the Preferred Servers are displayed.

For this reason, the new Preferred Server's page has been divided into two sections.
The first area contains all servers that require attention i.e. because of synchronization issues or service interruptions. This is, where the IT supporters need to take action.
The second area provides the same searchable detailed overview for all other servers.

Activate PXE Service Monitoring
to activate the PXE Monitoring ( using PowerShell) set Key in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\five9sWS\settings.config to

<add key="CentralSearchShowPxe" value="True" />
Custom Inventory
A sort order for Custom Inventory fields helps organizing bigger collections of data points.
Input fields can now be validated by a Regular Expression to ensure the user provides data in the specified format.

Operating System Deployment
  • Save time by using the new Advanced Clone feature. Make changes to the operating system, software, and Custom Inventory in one step while maintaining the settings you want.
  • Clear Custom Inventory for 'New Install' deployments (can be configured optional).
  • You can configure the allowed install types for the OSD page.
  • The Admin Page OSD Management shows the number of installed computers per operating system.

Home - Quick Inventory
  • Show Preferred Server without IP limits
  • Show Local Groups with members
  • Show AD Computer group membership of device

Home - Missing Patches
We recently added new status flags to indicate "replaced patches" and the current "test step" within our Advanced Patch process. View the download size of the displayed patches or set a filter to display only compliant patches in Missing Patches as well as in the security overview.

Home - Smart Filter & Security Information
Search for devices that need a reboot or display a "reboot required flag" in the computer information security panel.

Home - Find Computer by List
Search for devices by providing a list of serial numbers.

Other improvements

OS Recognition Win10 20H1
Recognition of client operating systems Windows 10 20h1. For differentiation we added the build number to the release ID, e.g. "Windows 10 (x64) 2009.19043", where release ID and build number (here in the example the 19043) are separated by a dot.
My Activities
The activities were extended by Rename PC. Also a link was added to allow direct access from the web page to the related log file to simplify the process monitoring.

Software Profiles
With every change you can now track a Customer References.

API
The five(9)s Console API provides an interface for applications to interact with deployment processes by sending and receiving data. The API is accessible via Web Services Description Language (WSDL) which is used for describing the functionality offered.

Currently supported actions:
  • Create or update device (with Custom Inventory)
  • OSD Deployment (bulk)
  • Check for duplicate device by hostname (Add Device or OSD)
  • Assign Software (bulk)
  • Get software information (for import to Service Management System)
  • More planned in future
