1. Introduction
Advanced OSD can be used to plan the deployment beforehand at a certain date and time. It is not needed to reboot the device at the planned time.
The advantages are:
- Staged rollouts
- pilot deployments on one day
- production deployments on later days
- Schedule during maintenance windows
- reduce disruptions by planing deployments outside of business hours
2. Prerequisites
- The operating systems need to be configured: see Operating System Management
- The device needs to be online. That can be achieved by a WakeOnLan.
- A policy sync is needed to start the provisioning via Virtual Boot.
- You need to configure the provisioning template in Ivanti EPM to use the Virtual Boot
