How do I correct a software assignment accidentally assigned to a wrong device?

Modified on Wed, 10 May 2023 at 01:29 PM

If software was assigned accidentally by the use of five(9)s Console to a wrong device,
  • simply go to the Home screen
  • click Desired State Button and
  • delete the software package from the Desired State list of that device.
If the above action is done bevor the Policy Sync Interval starts, the device addressed will not even notice the wrong assignment, nor will the software be installed.

If the above action is done after the Policy Sync Interval has started and the package has already been installed on that device, you either need
  • assign a corresponding uninstall package to the device
or
  • to uninstall the software package manually

In either cases DO NOT DELETE any SWD tasks in your Core Server. This would cause that neither installation or un-installation will occur.

Additional information:
five(9)s Console cleans up unnecessary tasks in your Core Server automatically. This can be configured in the Admin section of five(9)s Console. No manual action is required.

Additional information:

In client history, the "remove" of an DesiredState will store in client history
